About Referrals
- Referrals may be provided directly to the patient or submitted electronically. To submit a referral electronically, please contact us at
03 9419 1166 for an MBU referral template which may be used or
- Validity: A GP referral for a consultation is valid for 12 months.
- A specialist referral is valid for 3 months.
- If a patient is returning to discuss a new issue within the validity period of their referral, a new issue does require a new referral. This will enable our Breast Specialists to be kept up to date on the patient’s health and it will also enable the patient to be eligible for a Medicare rebate for their consultation.
