Kathy trained at the Alfred Hospital and graduated as a Division 1 Registered Nurse in 1981. She then went on to Monash University where she obtained a Bachelor of Nursing (Post Registration).
Kathy has also completed post graduate studies in community health, family planning, management and immunisation. With a special interest in women’s health Kathy joined Miss Suzanne Neil in 2011 as a specialist practice nurse helping deliver holistic patient care in the Melbourne Breast Unit.
Kathy regularly attends conferences and seminars to keep up to date and to develop professionally.
In a voluntary capacity she is;
- a Community Liaison with Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) and is on their Review and Survey Group;
- a Victorian Ambassador with BreastScreen Victoria;
- involved as an advocate with breast researchers at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute providing input for research submissions;
- involved with the training of second year medical students at Monash University.
In her spare time Kathy enjoys reading, orchestral performances and live theatre.
